Recap of NSA’s Work in 2024: A Year of Achievements and Social Impact

2024 has been a year filled with efforts, innovation, and progress for NSA. By organizing competitions, events, study circles, and creating opportunities for physical activity, we have continued our dedicated work to combat social isolation, support mental health, and improve the quality of life for individuals of all ages. With passion, dedication, and limited resources, we have delivered results that clearly highlight our importance as a sports association and socialal actor.

Social Isolation and Mental Health – Our Core Focus

At a time when the state is investing substantial resources to find solutions to social isolation, NSA has already developed and implemented effective methods. We create safe meeting places, foster community, and build relationships. Our activities target socioeconomically disadvantaged groups and provide people with the chance to grow and thrive – both as individuals and as part of a group. However, to continue developing and reaching more individuals, we need additional financial support.

Highlights from 2024

Events and Competitions:

• 4 Live Events/GIBS/LANs: Focused on breaking social isolation by creating meeting places where individuals can build new contacts and networks for the future. These events have been a success and central to our social engagement.
• 130 E-Cycling Races: For children, youth, and older adults, we have established an internationally recognized competition series. What started as a local initiative has evolved into a platform attracting elite riders in e-sports cycling and lower-tier professional road cyclists.
• 60 CX/MTB Onsite/Live Competitions: Focused on the local scene in Båstad and Laholm, we have created an impressive base of competitive opportunities for cyclists in the region.

Education and Development:

• 350+ Hours of Study Circles: Training in exercise science, nutrition, organizational planning, competition and event planning, and game theory has provided individuals with invaluable tools for personal and professional development.

E-Sports:

• Established 2 CS teams (senior and junior) and a Rocket League team with the goal of qualifying for the Swedish Championships in March 2025. This work has empowered many individuals and created a pathway into the growing e-sports world.
• Highlight of the Year: Our standout moment in e-cycling was when Erik “Golden” Rindborg successfully qualified for the World Championship semifinals through the open qualifiers. This was a monumental achievement and a major goal for him.
  

Collaboration with X Speed United

One of the most exciting initiatives of the year is our collaboration with X Speed United. We see this as an opportunity to rebuild the successful Swedish project that reached its peak in 2019. The pandemic forced us to scale back to an elite-focused structure, but with the right resources, we can once again become one of the Nordic region’s best continental teams and aim for the top 10 in the professional Division 3 world.

This year, we have been fortunate to retain long-standing partners such as Taya Chain, Velo Saddles, CBT Italia, Maglia, Bikescroll, and Bjärecykel. Additionally, we’ve welcomed new, strong partners like Lluh, Laholms kommun, Sharkgaming, and MyWhoosh. Their support has been crucial to our ability to achieve our goals.

This progress would never have been possible without their unwavering backing. Your support has been essential in enabling us to reach our milestones and make a difference.

Through our work, we have not only created sporting opportunities but also contributed to social cohesion, improved mental health, and personal development. We see daily evidence of how our efforts transform lives. However, this work depends on resources to continue growing and reaching more people. With increased financial support, we can take the next step and make an even greater impact on individuals and society at large.
